FAFSA and Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid Completion Sessions
Due to changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA, preview what to expect when filing out your 2024-2025 FAFSA.
The 2024-2025 FAFSA and Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid covers Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.
Due to changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA, all contributors will need to have a FSA ID set up prior to completing the FAFSA. This includes those contributors without a Social Security Number.
Student and contributors will need the following:
- If completing the FAFSA, student and all contributors must have their FSA ID set up at studentaid.gov > Create Account
- Copy of student’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
- If Dependent, a copy of parent’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
- If married, a copy of spouse’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Form

Students can also reach out to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) for one-on-one assistance.
