Anna Bakker, COD's Outdoor Lab/Prairie Manager, has more than 20 years of experience in restoration land management and environmental education outreach, having worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. Bakker earned a bachelor's degree in Fisheries & Wildlife at Michigan State University as well as a master's degree from DePaul University in Environmental Education.
Prior to joining the COD team, Bakker worked for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. During her tenure, she spent significant time focused on prairie ecology and conservation efforts.
During her time in the Chicago area, she has worked as an environmental consultant, served at five different nature centers, assisted with urban agriculture programs and helped build an aquaponics curriculum. She has been involved in community sustainability efforts giving back to the land as a volunteer steward of Fabyan Woods South with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, the Batavia Environmental Commission and the Batavia Tree Commission.
Bakker is a lifelong learner who loves nature and she enjoys sharing her passion for the natural world with others.
