The College of DuPage Board of Trustees invites nominations and applications for the position of President of College of DuPage.
Established in 1967, College of DuPage is the largest community college in Illinois. More than 26,000 students are enrolled in a broad range of college transfer and career programs. The College’s main campus is in Glen Ellyn, with centers located in Addison, Carol Stream, Lisle, Naperville and Westmont. College of DuPage is recognized for its innovative programs as well as extensive business and community outreach efforts. The Board seeks a President who will help fulfill the mission of the College to educate, enrich and empower our communities for success.

A doctorate is required and preferred applicants will also possess many of the following attributes:
- An exceptional and proven leader who has a full understanding of and appreciation for the mission of community colleges.
- An innovator with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the higher education landscape who can build upon the strengths of COD and further enhance its trajectory.
- Experience as a visible representative, and results-oriented leader of a large, complex organization whether in academic or non-traditional settings.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and speaking confidently about higher education to a wide range of external constituents, including civic leaders, elected officials, business owners, and others outside the traditional higher education sector.
- A servant leader with the ability to inspire, unify, and engage authentically across multiple constituent groups and communities.
- An active listener and outstanding communicator with the ability to garner trust, promote a culture of transparency and open communication, and synthesize ideas shared by the members of the COD community.
- Commitment to academic excellence and inclusiveness in decision making balanced with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult decisions and communicate those decisions with clarity and care.
- An accountable leader who is financially prudent, able to provide strong value to students while maintaining vigilance in overseeing extensive taxpayer investment in the College.
- Proven ability to manage strategic planning, human resources, curriculum development, collective bargaining, and community/legislative relations.
- Extensive experience in teaching or demonstrated understanding of the classroom teaching experience of a diverse student body.
- Strong ability to understand the interests of the College’s dedicated internal stakeholders, especially faculty, adjunct faculty, classified and administrative staff, and a commitment to their professional development and work-life balance.
- Proven success in reporting to and working with a governing board, including the ability to develop healthy working relationships in engaging board members.
- Experience within a system of shared governance that includes students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- A strategic leader who embodies honesty, integrity and strong ethics.
- An energetic, optimistic, relational, and compassionate individual who is dedicated to bringing respected, long-term leadership to COD.
