College of DuPage has many amazing opportunities, but young aviators who are chasing their aviation goals, career or otherwise, may notice that there has been no opportunity other than the classes provided here to be a part of a group effort, centered around aviation.
The COD Aviation Club proposes to fill that gap before our students move on to the next steps in their education. This way they can practice skills and concepts, receive help from staff and other students, get exposure to various aviation institutions, and experience being a part of a team with people their age. That way, if our members continue to pursue aviation, they will gain valuable skills and experience.
This club is a great resource for aviation students, and it naturally fits into the COD aviation program. Ideally, we would meet once a week and use the time to practice skills, ask questions, study with one another, etc. We also invite our members to get some off campus experience, such as visiting airports and towers, speaking to people in the field, and going to get involved with flight training companies, such as IAA. the Aviation Club will bring together students and give them a fun support group to help achieve their goals.
