The Fuel Garden supports the COD Fuel Pantry, serving our campus community who identify as food insecure. The Fuel Garden consists of 13 raised garden beds south of HSC, 13 growing beds on the CHC terrace, and 6 hydroponic tower gardens.

Description of Service Learner Role
Volunteer opportunities vary by season but primarily include:
- Compost management (chopping and sorting debris, turning and flipping debris)
- Litter pickup and general maintenance
- Seed collection (dead-heading and drying seeds)
- Weeding (digging or pulling)
Organization Requirements
Students interested in completing their service hours at the Fuel Garden need to complete this form to get started. A good attitude is required as well as a respect for each other and nature. When working outside, it is required that workers dress appropriately and for the weather conditions. Open-toed shoes are not recommended. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Water and sunscreen is also recommended.
