Project Management

Expert project managers are in very high demand. Earning a certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)—the world’s most respected association for project professionals—demonstrates that you have trained for and mastered the full range of skills to effectively lead complex projects.

College of DuPage can help you get the classroom training hours you need to prepare for PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP®), Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM®) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®) exams. Our expert project management trainer, Andy Kaufman, is a highly-regarded executive coach, keynote speaker, author and podcast host who has help hundreds of professionals train for and obtain PMI certifications.

Project Management Certification Information

Each PMI certification requires different combinations of educational attainment, project management education hours, verifiable experience in leading real-life projects and a passing grade on an PMI-administered exam. You can explore the requirements of each certification on the PMI website, or learn about certification paths from Andy when you take our two-day Essentials of Project Management course (listed below).

In addition, in order to maintain certification once you have earned it, PMI requires professional development units (PDUs)—additional hours of project management education and relevant on-the-job and/or volunteer experience. All COD project management courses can be used as PDUs to maintain PMI certification.
