College of DuPage is committed to providing accessible digital content, tools, and experiences to students, faculty, staff and members of the public with disabilities.   

The College follows Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards to ensure digital accessibility. These standards support compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Scope of Coverage

This accessibility standard applies to digital content that is owned, operated, or maintained by College of DuPage including:

  • Public-facing websites and web applications
  • Password-protected and internal websites and web applications
  • Learning management systems and course materials
  • Digital documents (PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Audio and video content (live and recorded)
  • Mobile applications
  • Third-party platforms and tools used to conduct institutional business

Continuous Improvement

College of DuPage is committed to continuously improving digital accessibility through regular evaluation, training, and collaboration across the community. Accessibility benefits everyone and is essential to our values of equity, inclusion and fostering student success.

The College has undertaken the following initiatives in our efforts to comply with the guidelines:

  • The College conducted thorough accessibility audits of its learning management systems, websites, and procurement processes to systematically identify barriers, prioritize remediation efforts, and drive meaningful improvements across all digital and operational environments.
  • The College has launched comprehensive accessibility training initiative for all staff and faculty, encompassing foundational accessibility principles, PDF remediation techniques, and specialized sessions on creating accessible graphics. The College is committed to continuing these training efforts to ensure ongoing growth and development in accessibility practices.

Access Training Courses in Cornerstone

Access Training Courses designed for COD in Cornerstone (link requires COD sign-in). The Digital Accessibility Resource Collection in Cornerstone includes video recordings, slide decks, and supporting materials.

    • To locate courses in Cornerstone, search for “Digital Accessibility Resource Collection” in the search bar of Cornerstone.
    • Then click the green ‘Request’ button to open the collection. As displayed on the menu on the left, this collection is organized into three categories: Accessible Documents, Accessible PDFs, and Accessible Graphics.
    • Select each category to view and “Launch” each resource.
