Facilities Master Plan Community Forums to be Held April 20
By Leo Boshardy

College of DuPage invites community members to the Facilities Master Plan Community Open Forum, offered twice on Monday, April 20, in the Student Services Center Atrium on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
Hosted by SmithGroup, each session -- from noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. -- will outline the planning process, timeline and opportunities for community input, including an interactive activity. Boxed lunches will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided.
Updated every five years as required by the Illinois Community College Board, COD’s Facilities Master Plan guides future development to ensure campus spaces support student and community needs.
With extensive higher education experience, SmithGroup will help evaluate current facilities and plan future needs in infrastructure, land use and sustainability. During the forum, the firm will provide an overview on the FMP process at COD as well as discuss next steps. The final plan, expected in June 2026, will provide data-driven recommendations for facility improvements and sustainable practices that align with future trends in energy, technology and design.
