Strategic Long-Range Plan
Our Next Chapter Starts Here
This Strategic Long-Range Plan represents a shared commitment to help shape the future of the College and its impact beyond the institution—building on our strengths while reimagining what’s possible for our students, faculty, staff and the District 502 community. Guided by the Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee, this work gathers the voices of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community partners to create a collective vision for the years ahead.
Over the coming months, we are engaging in meaningful conversations with a host of key stakeholders, exploring new ideas and defining clear priorities that reflect the needs of higher education. The result will be a dynamic, five-year roadmap from 2026 to 2031 that aligns our mission, vision and values with measurable goals and real impact.
Together, we are actively building a strong future at College of DuPage and beyond.
Dive into the structure, guiding priorities and key milestones toward the development
of our strategic plan.
The mission of College of DuPage is to educate, enrich and empower our communities
for success.
College of DuPage will be the primary college district residents choose for high quality
education. Guided by the Strategic Long-Range Plan Committee and in partnership with Northern
Illinois University, this multi-phase effort moves from dialogue and discovery to
synthesis, validation and implementation.
The Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee formally launched in November 2025, clarifying
roles, responsibilities and communication plans. Early efforts included gathering
existing data, reviewing past plans and sharing the initiative with the campus and
community. From December 2025 through February 2026, the committee engaged stakeholders, launched
surveys and focus groups to gather data. From March through April 2026, the committee will continue to refine priorities, integrate
feedback and prepare draft framework for presentation to key governing bodies. The months of May and June will focus on refining the draft, gathering feedback, aligning
priorities with the College’s mission and preparing measurable goals for final approval. From July through September, the comprehensive strategic plan will be submitted to
the Board for approval with final refinements, action plans and a campus-wide rollout.Explore the Plan
