Field Studies and Study Abroad
The world outside the walls of a traditional classroom is yours to explore when you join COD's experiential learning and global education programs. Enroll in courses to earn credit toward a degree or certificate, to learn a particular skill or to visit a specific destination. Attend local events to explore new cultures or discuss global affairs. Whatever your passion or interest, we have something for you.
To find courses currently open for registration, browse the course calendar. For more information and to learn how to register for courses, check out our frequently asked questions or contact us.
Choose an adventure to get started. Field Studies courses, both domestic and international, range from a weekend to three
weeks in length.
Lasting more than three weeks, these courses allow for an extended focus on subjects
and destinations and include month-long summer language immersion and traditional
semester abroad opportunities.
Instead of traveling afar, join us for globally focused events on campus throughout
the year.
There are a variety of ways to help fund your experience, including scholarships funded
by COD, national organizations, and the U.S. government. First Friday Courses are open for registration on the first Friday of the month at
midnight. If you try to register and you are unable to enroll or be added to the waitlist,
contact us at (630) 942-2356. Leave a voicemail with your name, phone number and email
address, and you will be enrolled or added to the waitlist in the order your message
was received. The World is Your Classroom
