About the Creative Writing Certificate
College of DuPage is the first community college in Illinois to offer a creative writing certificate—a stackable credential for professionals looking to enhance their ability to tell a story for their employer. The certificate also serves writers seeking to perfect their craft for publication.
The program includes 5 classes: Introduction to Creative Writing, a genre writing course, a literature or theater course, an elective, and a capstone!
Writers choose from various academic tracks including Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction, Screenwriting, or general Creative Writing studies.
