Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training

College of DuPage Continuing Education offers an American Heart Association (AHA) certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for those in the health care field and for those who are interested in learning lifesaving skills. 

Heartsaver CPR/AED

This American Heart Association (AHA) course includes CPR, choking and use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults. It is designed for those who are NOT in the health care field and require a certification in CPR and AED to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Upon successful completion of all course requirements, students receive a Heartsaver CPR/AED e-card valid for two years. If you are unsure which CPR certification you require, check with your employer. Fee includes: student manual and materials.

This course is physically demanding. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting. CPR is hard work in both practice on a manikin and doing CPR for a cardiac arrest victim.

BLS Provider CPR

This American Heart Association (AHA) course is designed to train health care professionals including students in the AHA Chain of Survival with special regard to the BLS components. The course focuses on the need to give high-quality CPR and provide early use of an AED for the adult, child/infant and to provide effective ventilation using a barrier device. The importance of teamwork in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during a multi-rescuer CPR event is covered and practiced. Also included is relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants. Upon successful completion of all requirements, participants will receive a BLS Provider e-card valid for two years. Fee includes: Student manual and materials.
