Nominations Open for 2026 Adade Wheeler Awards
By Leo Boshardy

The College of DuPage Women's Studies Committee is accepting nominations for the 2026 Adade Wheeler Woman of the Year and the inaugural Student Leadership awards.
Named for former COD History Professor Adade Wheeler, the Woman of the Year award has been given annually since 1983 to individuals who have made significant contributions to the personal and professional advancement of women through education, advocacy and/or mentoring.
Priority is placed on activities that are beyond the scope of the workplace. Those submitting names must include a list of achievements discussing how their nominee meets the award criteria. The recipient will receive $500 and a plaque of recognition. Submit nominations for Woman of the Year here.
Students nominated for the new Student Leadership Award must be enrolled at COD during the 2026-27 academic year and reside, work or volunteer within Community College District 502. Award winners will receive a $500 scholarship and certificate of recognition. Submit nominations for the Student Leadership Award here.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 4, for both awards.
The Adade Wheeler Awards event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the Silverleaf Meeting Room at the Culinary & Hospitality Center (CHC) on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
