Apply for Internship Credit
In order to begin the academic credit internship process, students should contact internships@cod.edu, follow all internship deadlines and complete the instructions outlined below.
Step One
Complete the Service Request Form to meet with the Internship Coordinator to discuss the details and requirements for the program. After meeting with the Internship Coordinator, students will move to Step Two.
Step Two
Create your Chaps Get Hired account. Chaps Get Hired is an electronic job board that runs through College Central Network (CCN).
Step Three
Sign-in to your Chaps Get Hired account and visit your dashboard.
Step Four
Select: "Experiential Learning" on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
Step Five
Select: "Submit a New Academic Credit Internship Program Agreement."
- Review the instructions.
- Download the forms to review.
Step Six
Select "Academic Credit Internship Program, College of DuPage" to complete the required form. (The CSC recommends completing the initial form with your Faculty Advisor to create appropriate learning goals).
Step Seven
Submit your Experiential Learning Agreement.
Once your Experiential Learning Agreement has been submitted for review, each party will receive an email to approve the agreement. Once the agreement is finalized, you will receive an email with the following information:
- Confirmation email with instructions to register for your course.
- Two links to complete a Student Initial Self-Assessment and Internship Description .
The following steps are required at the end of the semester:
Step Eight
Request an exit interview with your Internship Supervisor and Faculty Advisor (request this at least two weeks in advanced).
Step Nine
Complete the Final Form in Chaps Get Hired.
Once the final form has been submitted for review, each party will receive an email to approve the final form. Once this is completed, you will receive an email with a link for a Student Final Self-Assessment
Step Ten
Finalize all requirements with your Faculty Advisor.
