High School Equivalency Program (GED/HSE)

College of DuPage offers a comprehensive, FREE program designed to help you succeed and pass the GED® exam with confidence.
Our dedicated program prepares you to excel in all four key areas of the GED® test:
- Social Studies – Understand history, civics, and geography to stay informed and engaged citizens.
- Science – Develop critical thinking skills in life sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences.
- Reasoning through Language Arts – Improve reading comprehension, writing, and analytical skills.
- Math – Strengthen your mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
We also offer classes in Spanish to better serve our diverse community and ensure language barriers don’t hold you back.
Additionally, passing the U.S. Constitution test is a required part of earning your HSE/GED. We provide resources and links to help you prepare for and pass this important exam. To meet the Illinois Constitution requirement for your High School Diploma, complete the online lesson. After finishing, you'll provide information so we can connect your completion to your high school equivalency testing.

Please note: Students who are 16 or 17 years old must submit a letter of withdrawal from high school to participate.
Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System (ICAPS)

Get Started Today: High School Equivalency (ABE/GED/HSE)
All students must complete the TABE placement test before registration. The process takes approximately 2½ hours.
Please note: Children are not permitted in the testing room, so plan accordingly.
Walk-in testing is available at all COD Testing Centers-on and off campus. No appointment is needed.
