Faculty and Staff Technology Resources
Whether you are looking for professional development opportunities, classroom technology assistance or institutional policies, faculty and staff can find everything information technology-related to support your success. COD Network Account
Your COD Network Account provides access to most College of DuPage technology services and systems. This account is used to log in to college-issued computers, Microsoft 365 services, Blackboard, and other campus resources.
All students, faculty, and staff receive a COD Network Account.
Password Management & Account Registration
Before resetting your password, you must first register for multi-factor authentication.
- Visit cod.edu/helpdesk
- Select Duo Registration to enroll your device for multi-factor authentication.
- After completing registration, return to cod.edu/helpdesk and select Password Reset to create or update your password.
Two-Factor Authentication
To help protect your account, College of DuPage uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Faculty and Staff: Authenticate using Duo Security.
- Students: Authenticate using Microsoft Authenticator with number matching.
This additional verification step helps ensure that only authorized users can access College systems.
Wireless Internet
College of DuPage provides wireless access across campus.
COD Public Wireless
Available for general use by students, employees, and guests. No password is required.
COD Employee Wireless
Available for faculty and staff using their COD Network Account credentials.
Ellucian Colleague
Ellucian Colleague is the College’s centralized records system used to manage institutional data and administrative processes.
Authorized users can access Colleague for tasks such as reviewing institutional data and managing administrative records.
Account Requests
Some employees may require additional system access to perform their job duties.
Requests for additional accounts or system access can be submitted by creating a ticket with the IT Service Desk.
Faculty/Staff Email
Faculty and staff receive a Microsoft 365 email account as part of their COD Network Account.
Email can be accessed through:
- Microsoft Outlook desktop application
- Outlook on the web
College email is the official system used to distribute institutional communications, announcements, and important updates.
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is the primary collaboration platform used at College of DuPage.
Teams allows users to:
- Chat with colleagues
- Share and collaborate on files
- Host meetings and video calls
- Work together within departmental teams and channels
Zoom
Zoom is available to all College of DuPage faculty and staff for hosting online meetings and virtual events.
Faculty and staff receive a basic Zoom license.
Users who require additional features, such as removing the meeting time limit, can submit a request to the IT Service Desk for a Zoom Pro license.
Emergency Alerts (Everbridge)
College of DuPage uses Everbridge to deliver emergency alerts and important campus notifications.
These alerts may include information about:
- Campus emergencies
- Weather-related closures
- Safety notifications
Everbridge can send notifications through email, phone calls, or text messages. Access and configuration are available through the inside.cod.edu portal.
Telecommunications
College telecommunications services include:
- Campus telephone services
- Voicemail
- Conference calling
The College’s phone system is supported through Avaya telecommunications services.
Blackboard
Blackboard is the College’s learning management system (LMS).
Faculty use Blackboard to:
- Post course materials
- Share assignments and resources
- Communicate with students
- Manage grades and feedback
Students access Blackboard to view course content, submit assignments, and participate in online learning activities.
Blackboard can be accessed at: bb.cod.edu
Classroom Technology
College classrooms are equipped with technology designed to support teaching and learning.

College-Issued Computers
Faculty and staff log in to College-issued computers using their COD Network Account.
These devices are configured and managed by the College to ensure access to required applications, network resources, and security updates.
Copying and Printing
College of DuPage provides multifunction printers across campus for printing, scanning, and copying.
Printing services are managed through PaperCut SmartPrint.
Users can access SmartPrint at smartprint.cod.edu.
Remote Access (VPN)
Faculty and staff can securely access College resources from off campus using VPN (Virtual Private Network).
The College uses FortiClient VPN software.
- Pre-installed on College-issued laptops
- Available for installation on personal devices
VPN allows secure access to internal systems and network resources when working remotely.
Microsoft 365
College of DuPage provides Microsoft 365 to students, faculty, and staff.
This includes applications such as:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- Teams
- OneDrive
Full-time faculty and staff may install Office on up to five personal devices.
Part-time faculty and adjunct instructors receive web-based access to Microsoft 365 applications.
Adobe
Adobe software is available to the College community for instructional and administrative use.
Licensing and availability may vary depending on role and departmental needs.
College of DuPage provides a variety of Microsoft tools to support productivity and collaboration, including:
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- Outlook
- Office Online applications
These tools allow users to store files, collaborate with colleagues, and access work from any device.
Portal inside.cod.edu
The inside.cod.edu portal provides centralized access to many College services and resources.
Through the portal, users can access:
- Microsoft 365 email
- Blackboard
- myACCESS
- Everbridge emergency notifications
- Campus announcements and resources
- Other institutional tools and services
College of DuPage provides resources and guidance to help protect personal and institutional data.

IT Help Desk
The IT Help Desk provides support for students, faculty, and staff needing assistance with technology services.
Support is available for issues related to:
- Accounts and passwords
- Microsoft 365
- Blackboard
- Wireless connectivity
- Software and hardware
- Printing and remote access
